northern seas, picked up the Christmas tree the Air Force dropped off at
sea for us and talked to the WAF's, dodged the Russian trallers.
Remember looking for the Thresher off Boston, also Keywest, and the
CUBAN Crisis- off Havana and running back and forth trying not to
collide with the survey ship outside the harbor and every evening they
shot down the weather balloon the AGs sent up. I didn't go on the World
cruise, married my Scotish Lass, Reenlisted and transfered to the
Yosemite AD-19 and went to RD B school. I do remember the Radar Gang and
served with some of them later in my 20years like Herb Grace. My wife
and I visited ADM Fountain after I retired in Washington, DC and he told
us all about the world Cruise and the crack in the keel, some trip.

carried away!)
