The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) is providing the Military Reunion Listings as a FREE service to the veteran community. I search the internet looking for reunions and then send requests for the information to the listed POC. I sent 4,788 reunion organizations e-mails, in calendar years 2006 and 07, requesting information on their reunions, 61.5 % responded with information. We have 2,685 – 2006, and 07 listings in the archives. With the last listing update, we have 860 reunion listings for calendar years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Please take a look at our website, www.trea.org, scroll down the left side and click on Reunions/Buddies, and this will bring up the reunion page. As reunions are completed, they are transferred to the Completed Listing at the end of the month. There, they will remain as a reference point for someone looking for a unit contact. My intention is that each calendar year reunions will be individually listed.

Greetings from the USS Hissem DE/DER-400 Association.

The next Hissem reunion will take place in the Orlando/Kissimmee area of Florida on October 5, 6, and 7, 2008. Checkout will be October 8, 2008. The Best Western Lakeside Hotel in Kissimmee will be the hosting facility for the reunion. The room rate is $64.52 per night which includes all taxes and the daily room resort service charge. Please make your reservations by calling the Best Western Central Reservations at

1-800-848-0801, select option 3 and ask for the USS Hissem group block. The hotel will hold the room block until September 21, 2008. For more information on the hotel, please visit their website at http://www.bestwesternlakeside.com/. This is the same hotel where the 2004 reunion was held under the name of the La Quinta Inn.

There is a buffet dinner planned for Tuesday night, October 7. The dinner will be held in the banquet room at the hotel. A raffle will be held at the dinner for at least one free room for the three-night stay.

The 2008 USS Hissem DE/DER-400 reunion will be held at the Best Western Lakeside Hotel in Kissimmee, Florida. Check-in will be Sunday, October 5 and check-out is Wednesday, October 8.

The room rate at Best Western is $69.00 per night including all taxes. Please make your reservations by calling 1-800-843-0801, select option 3 and ask for the USS Hissem group block. The cut off date for the room and dinner registration is Sunday, September 21, 2008.
